32nd Annual Third Floor Photo Society High School Shoot-Out

Here are the results for the 32nd Annual Third Floor High School Shoot-Out. This annual contest is sponsored by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Third Floor Photographic Society, a student organization at Texas A&M University-Commerce that is made up of photography majors that are a part of a widely respected photography program. 
 Over 1,200 images and 20 portfolios were entered this year from 16 high schools. The judge calling the shots this year was Greg Milano, a distinguished Texas A&M University – Commerce alumni and professional photographer in the DFW area.
All the winners will receive certificates for each image that was chosen. The Best of Show in Color, B&W and the First Place Junior/Senior Portfolio winners will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend Texas A&M University-Commerce as a student pursuing a major in photography. Also, this year, all the 1st place winners in each category will receive $500 scholarships if they decide to attend TAMU-C as students pursing degrees in photography.
Greg Milano was very impressed with the high quality of work being done by high school students.  “Many students who were not recognized certainly deserved it. There were many tough decisions to be made when judging this year’s contest.  However, the images that stood out from the rest had a clean, simple vision that the photographer was able to articulate through their work, along with a high level of technical quality.  That attention to detail and technical skill reveals a pride in one's work that separates them from other photographers.”
